Relationships and sex education, and PSHE
BackThe Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (England) Regulations 2019, made under sections 34 and 35 of the Children and Social Work Act 2017, make Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) compulsory for all pupils receiving secondary education. They also make Health Education compulsory in all schools except independent schools.
In order to delivery this effectively at The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School, curriculum and form time is used in order to ensure that both RSE and PSHE schemes of work are delivered to their full.
Please find below the curriculum maps for these areas of study, detailing the content covered across the key stages.
